Shop 'til you drop'

As in most mediterranean resorts, in Valencia street markets take place every morning of the week in different parts of the town. You can’t miss the market in Plaza Redonda, which is known among the Valencian people as “el clot”(the hole), because the square has a cicular shape and you can access it only from the porches.
At the centre of the square there is a fountain, around which you will find stalls selling pictures, books, plants, animals and cds.
Behind the Plaza Redonda, at Lonja de la Sepader, stamp and coin lovers will find a veritable collector’s paradise, where they can swap their wares with other collectors.
If you love food, the market in Mercado Central is the perfect place to immerse yourself into different tastes, flavours and smells…it’s quite literally a treat for the tastebuds.

Finally, if you need some rest after your crazy shopping, you can relax at Mercado de Colón, a recently restored arcade with all kinds of shops and cafès…
For those who can’t live without fashion, in Valencia  Calle Colón, located near Plaza Ayuntamiento and Mercado Colon, is ideal.  Shops include all the high street names, such as Zara, Corte inglès and Mango.
Like in all big towns, Valencia has a lot of shopping centers, where you can wander about round all sorts of shops; Nuevo Centro (north of the River), El saler (which boasts a Carrefour and a cinema) and Aqua (where you can find fashion-outlets).
