Fallas museum (Museo Fallero)

If you don't know what “las fallas” are, this is the place to find out. This internationally renowned festival is typical of Valencia is worth seeing. The Museo Fallero is located in a holstery and it's collection is made up “ninots”, figures that have been spared from the fire by popular vote since 1934. They are so well made that it is like being at Madame Tussauds, even if the ninots are much more humorous. You will see representatives from the last 80 years of Las Fallas, as well as atmospheric posters, pictures of the best fallas and portraits of Fallera Mayor. If your Spanish is good, there are also sections on the history of the festival, on how the fallas are made, and even a model of mascleta (pyrotechnics). A 10-minute video will show you all the major aspects of Las Fallas, from the assembly and costumes to the fireworks and the bonfire night.
