Live and study in Valencia

Ceramics museum

The ceramics museum is housed in the beautiful Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas, in the centre of town. The façade of the Palace is a wonderful sight: it is a triumph of baroque exuberance: whirls, lions and wild animals. The interior is equally beautiful: you can enjoy a trip though luxurious rooms, some in gothic style, others inspired by the Orient and ballroom dancing. There are two rooms in particular that are worth a look: one contains a typical Valencian kitchen totally equiped with ceramics and a porcelain room with many colourfully decorated artifacts. Moreover you can see an evolution of ceramics from ancient times to modernity at the top floor, where some samples of Islamic art can be found. The red room is also very interesting: red material, painted musical nymphs on the ceilings, and built-in wall panels that used to hide an orchestra.
