Cathedral of Valencia

In Valencia there is plenty to see, starting with the Cathedral, located in the centre of the town, (Plaza de la Reina), where the Holy Grail is preserved. Founded in the 13th Century, this hybrid of different styles (gothic and romanesque) is regarded as the religious centre of the town.

The octagonal bell-tower, called Micalet or also Miguelete, is the landmark of the city. You can climb the stairs (be prepaired…it's the highest structure in Valencia!) and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Valencia. In the Capitulary you can see the Holy Chalice, from which Jesus Christ and the Apostles are said to have drunk during the Last Supper. Finally, in the Cathedral's Museum you can appreciate the works of Goya, Jacomart, Cellini, Paggibonsi as well as paintings of the Valencian school.
